Cascade Clamps - Founded in Portland, Oregon in the year 1943, the Cascade Manufacturing Company started as a small machine shop hiring just 4 people. Overall sales for that year amounted to about $60,000. The first recorded sales revenues involved the machining and assembly of stainless steel valves, pipe fittings and other components. Throughout five years of operation, the business had expanded to 40 employees and their yearly sales volume had risen to 330 thousand dollars. At present, Cascade is among the top global producers in the material handling industry.
Design and manufacturing of the company's initial hydraulic cylinder allowed this young business to aggressively engage in new business possibilities. Throughout the last 60 years, the trade of material handling has developed into a very advanced area with Cascade proudly playing a part in its progress. Cascade presently continues to grow as the best supplier of forklift attachments and numerous associated products. The company feels confident in their potential to be able to continue to lead the way in the business by understanding customer's needs in the future and remaining aggressive within the world market.
In the 1950's, Cascade started designing, making and promoting hydraulic attachments. Construction was finished in the year 1956 on a new facility so as to house all office and plant operations in Portland, Oregon at the company's present center of operations. Subsequent to fifteen years of business, total workers reached 180 workers and sales had reached practically 2.3 million dollars.
The next production plant was built in 1959 in Springfield, Ohio. The year 1960 marked Cascade's preliminary move into the international world of the material handling industry when the business established interest in the Netherlands, England, and Australia.
The business altered its name to Cascade Corporation in the year 1964. In 1965, Cascade went public with an initial offering of 200,000 shares of common stock. The company has expanded its production facilities throughout the U.S. with locations in Warner Robins, Georgia, Portland, Oregon and Springfield, Ohio. Cascade merchandise are made worldwide due to lots of subsidiary operations. In the year 1944, a new plant was completed in Almere, the Netherlands which is Cascade's European head office. This plant is made to be the essential customer service centre.
Continuing to grow, Cascade expanded their product offering further in the year 1996 and the year 1997 with the remarkable acquisition of five companies, including the worldwide leader in forks, the Kenhar Corporation.
